Man shaken by unprovoked attack in Worthing

The 52-year-old victim was walking alone in Gratwicke Road, Worthing, when a man on a dark mountain bike stopped and assaulted him at about 5.30pm on last Tuesday.

The attacker was white, about 5ft 7ins and aged 20 to 30. He was of average build, was wearing dark clothing and had short to medium-length dark hair.

Detective Constable Paul Tonks said: “The victim suffered bruising to the face and was left badly shaken by the attack.

“He did not know his attacker and does not know why he was assaulted.

“We need to find anyone who was in the area at the time and who saw or heard any part of what happened. If you recognise the description of the attacker we would also like to speak to you.”
