Man suspected of stealing sentimental items is charged

A Littlehampton man has been charged with a spate of burglaries, police have said.

Robert Cox, 30, unemployed, of Beach Road, Littlehampton, has been remanded in custody after being charged with four burglaries, handling stolen goods and possession of controlled substances, according to police.

Police said Cox was arrested on August 9 after a series of burglaries which occurred in Wick Farm Road, Smallcroft Close, Woodlands Road and Selbourne Court, Littlehampton between August 1 and 7.

Some of the stolen property has been recovered by police.

Detective constable Jon Woolley said: “There are a number of other items of sentimental property still missing from these burglaries which we would like to reunite with their owners.

“We are appealing for any witnesses or anyone who may be able to help with information to contact police on [email protected] quoting Operation Argyle. Alternatively, you can call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 (www.crimestoppers-uk.org).”

Cox will appear at Lewes Crown Court on September 7.
