On route, the crews were informed that a man had made it ashore.

An ambulance crew treated the man on the beach, as he was suffering from the affects of the cold water.

Both lifeboats were returned to station on Kingston Beach.

Five days previously, the inshore lifeboat was launched to a report of a small rowing boat possibly stuck on a sand bar, with one person in the water between Lancing and Worthing.

The boat launched at 9.30am last Tuesday and once at Lancing, it was established it was a small fishing boat, which had come ashore.
