Maple Walk development rejected

A REVISED application to build ten detached houses next to Maple Walk has been blocked by Rother District Council.

18 letters of objection were registered to the plan.

The original application, approved by RDC in November, was for six houses on the site.

Cllr Joanne Gadd spoke against the plan and the extra traffic it would cause on Maple Walk, which is an unadopted road.

She said: "I feel that Maple Walk gets narrower and narrower.

"The road there is only three metres wide. People walk along that road to do their shopping. Children walk along there to go to school. This is going to cause absolute havoc, and will exacerbate the already difficult situation on Maple Walk."

The application was refused by Rother District Council planning committee on Thursday, April 16.
