Way back on September 1, 2015, Ben Smith, 34, started off on his epic journey from his home town in Bristol to do 401 marathons.

Despite a few days recovering from an injury, he has managed to run the 401 marathons in the time period, reaching his fundraising target of £250,000 for two anti-bullying charities.

Back in March he set off from Chanctonbury Leisure Centre car park at 10am on his first morning in the area, running a 13.1 mile route twice, around Storrington, along the bottom of the Downs, through Parham to Amberley and back to the leisure centre.

As part of the second run he went to Rydon and Storrington First School to run with the children.

Ben is now running a month of half marathons, followed by shorter distances to ‘cool down’ after such a long and punishing routine.
