Maybridge fund-raiser helps disabled children

THE proceeds of a fund-raising event have been presented to two disabled children.

Trish Murrell organised a pirate-themed fun day in aid of William Moore, who has severe dystonic motor disorder, and Iona-May Thorne, from East Preston, who has quadriplegic cerebral palsy, earlier this year.

And she has now presented the children and their parents with an equal share of the money she raised on the day, which was held at the Maybridge Keystone Centre, in Raleigh Way, Maybridge.

Laura Moore, of Ashurst Close, Goring, is William’s mum.

She said: “We would like to say a huge thank-you to Trish and everyone at the Maybridge Keystone Centre for organising such a wonderful event, it was so much fun and it’s amazing that everyone was so generous in donating to William’s fund.”

On the day, a representative from HSBC also presented a cheque raised from company activities.
