McDonalds backed for North Bersted

The members of the parish council’s planning committee agreed to raise no objection to the proposal.

Cllr Ann Smee said: “I’ve got no objection to this if it’s going to bring regeneration and employment into this area.”

Cllr Brian Knight said: “This is in the right place. It’s not going to interfere with anyone.”

The councillors’ opinion will be passed to Arun District Council which will make the final decision about the application.

McDonalds wants to replace an office building on Oldlands Way with a two-storey restaurant with 115 seats.
