The report highlighted staff understood the needs of patients, and patients fell safe and looked after.

It said: “Staff understood and fulfilled their responsibilities to raise concerns and report incidents and near misses. Opportunities for learning from internal and external incidents were maximised.

The surgery was inspected on April 14 for safetyness, effectiveness, care, responsiveness, and leadership.

The surgery has also been working to deliver a pre-diabetes programme for patients identified as being at risk.

Clair Fallows, practice manager, said: “We are so very proud of what we have achieved. It’s been a difficult time for us, and for our patients recently with the issues surrounding GP recruitment, funding and resourcing but this award validates our efforts and motivates us to continue to strive for excellent care.”
