This free event is a great family day out and visitors have the chance to meet the cats at the centre and see the valuable work undertaken there. All funds raised on the day will go towards the animals in their care.

There will be a host of activities to keep cat lovers and children busy, including a variety of stalls, face painting, home-made cakes, nail art, raffles, tombola and a range of fun games for children, chat to the knowledgeable volunteers and meet the cats.

Digby, the tiny kitten which made the national papers in May after being found in the bucket of a digger, which had travelled more than 80 miles from Lowestoft to Hastings, is now available for adoption at the centre.

Myra Grove, Cattery Manager for Bluebell Ridge said: “We’d love as many people as possible to come along and support our work. We always look forward to opening our doors to the public on our open days as it’s a chance for people to have fun while meeting some of the cats that we care for.”

Last year Bluebell Ridge helped to rescue and rehome over 250 animals in the Hastings, Bexhill and Battle area.
