Diane, a former Worthing borough councillor, said: “We’re really proud to be joining a movement that’s made such a difference across the country.
“We hope The Broadwater pub will be a really welcoming space to bring locals together. If you’re on your own and fancy some company and some laughs, pop in. There will be tea, coffee and cake on offer, and all for free.”
The Meet Up Mondays started at The Alexandra pub in Wimbledon and has gone on to be a huge success across the country.

Group organisers say evidence shows building relationships with family, friends and the wider community is important for wellbeing.
The Broadwater, in Broadwater Street West, Worthing, is the first pub in West Sussex to host Meet Up Mondays, which launch on October 8.
Diane added: “We’d love to encourage as many people as possible to come and everyone is welcome. If you know someone who isn’t online, don’t just tell them about it, persuade them to come.”
