Worthing is joining the national Meet Up Mondays scheme with the launch of a new weekly group.
Diane Guest, manager of The Broadwater, will launch the group on Monday in a bid to bring people together and help combat loneliness.
There is no cost to join and tea, coffee and cake will be provided from 11am to midday.

Diane, a former Worthing borough councillor, said: “We’re really proud to be joining a movement that’s made such a difference across the country.
“We hope The Broadwater pub will be a really welcoming space to bring locals together. If you’re on your own and fancy some company and some laughs, pop in. There will be tea, coffee and cake on offer, and all for free.”
The Meet Up Mondays started at The Alexandra pub in Wimbledon and has gone on to be a huge success across the country.
The aim is to give people the chance to get together at least one day each week, using pubs as well-known focal points.
Group organisers say evidence shows building relationships with family, friends and the wider community is important for wellbeing.
The Broadwater, in Broadwater Street West, Worthing, is the first pub in West Sussex to host Meet Up Mondays, which launch on October 8.
Diane added: “We’d love to encourage as many people as possible to come and everyone is welcome. If you know someone who isn’t online, don’t just tell them about it, persuade them to come.”
Meet Up Mondays will take place every Monday and Diane will be at the door to greet people. Look out for the Meet Up Mondays signs on the tables once inside.
