TWO men have been jailed for a knifepoint robbery in Lancing this year.
Thomas French, of Burley Close, Lancing, and Jamie Falk, The Paddocks, Lancing, both aged 21, pleaded guilty to robbery on March 24 in Culver Road, when they appeared at Chichester Crown Court on August 3.
The court heard the 22-year-old victim was approached by French and Falk while he was walking to work in Culver Road at 5.45am.
They demanded his wallet and headphones and they produced knives.
The victim refused and he was head-butted and punched by both men.
He handed over his wallet and the pair ran off.
They were quickly arrested and the victim’s wallet was recovered.
French was sentenced to three years and four months and Falk was jailed for three years.
After the case, Detective Constable Emma Dumbrell said: “This was a serious offence which is reflected in the sentences they received. The victim was robbed at knifepoint and punched and head-butted as he was going about his day-to-day business early in the morning in a residential area.”
