Military event returns to Steyne Gardens, Worthing

The annual West Sussex Armed Forces Weekend returns to Worthing on Saturday in Steyne Gardens.

A military march by The Band and the Bugles, of Sir John Moore Barracks, Winchester will get the event underway at 10am followed by two school choir performances and a fly past by a BBMF Hurricane at 12.20pm.

Stalls will provide hot drinks and food throughout the day and a variety of bands, including The Day Trippers who will be performing Beatles songs, will play for the audience.

There will be a military vehicle display which will include a Foxhound and a prototype Pinzgauer.

On Sunday, a drumhead service will take place at 10.30am, attended by the Vice Lord Lieutenant, High Sheriff and the Mayor and Mayoress, Bob Smytherman and Mayoress Norah Fisher.

Lancing Brass, the band of Lancing Royal British Legion, will play during the service, and at 12.30pm will perform a concert onstage.

Seating is available on both days.
