Kerry Sexton, 20, of Harrison Road, Worthing, has so far raised £935.52 to be split between St Barnabas House and Beauty with a Purpose for the competition’s charity round.

Kerry has organised to do a static Brighton to London bike ride, a cake sale and a sky dive in the run up to the Miss Sussex Final on March 29.

Kerry said: “I am delighted to have been selected to take a place in the Miss Sussex finals, I am so excited about competing in the final and meeting all the other contestants. I have raised money for charities before but I have never raised this much and it feels so good. It would be such a huge honour to be crowned Miss Sussex and to represent my home county in the Miss England final in June.”

In addition to charity work, competitors have to produce a two minute video showcasing a talent. Kerry’s video shows her competing in banger racing which she hoped would make her stand out from the rest.

Kerry also took part in the photographic round at Fontwell racecourse.
