Freddie, a nine-month-old English Continental Rabbit, went missing on Sunday before the arrival of Storm Katie, and worried owner Kiera Osborne, 23, from Durrington, thought she might never see her beloved bunny again.

But Freddie was found safe in the garden at 8am the next morning, just in time for his morning carrot.

Kiera said: “My mum rang me and told me he had gone missing, and I was distraught. He’s such a big bunny, he’s more like a dog, but he has such a personality. We thought he had been attacked by a fox. But I put a message on Facebook, and it got nearly 2000 shares and around 800 comments.

“I got a call on Monday morning to say they’d found him in the garden the whole time. He came back for his 8am carrot.

“I would really like to thank everyone on Facebook who were really concerned about him. He’s quite well known on there but friends and neighbours really rallied around to help find him.”
