Mobile tourist information idea for Worthing

AN eyecatching but simple idea could raise Worthing's profile and help promote tourism in the town.

This is the view of former county councillor Cyril Selby, who noticed a mobile tourist information service while on holiday with his wife in Verona, Italy.

The idea from Mr Selby comes after he cited 'cost cuts and penny pinching' by Worthing Borough Council for failing to open the town's two tourist offices over the busy Easter bank holiday weekend last month.

Mr Selby said the mobile information service could open in the summer along with the tourist offices, and said that if this service was introduced the central office could even close in the summer season.

Mr Selby said: "This would improve access to tourist information and sell Worthing a lot better.
