Morning traffic and travel across the area: Wednesday, September 30

There is minor congestion on the B2222 Lyons Way, Broadwater this morning (September 30).

The road is currently busy (8.10am) on the A27 Sompting bypass/Upper Brighton Road in Worthing up to the Lyons Farm traffic lights, but traffic is moving.

There is also heavy traffic on the A27 Chichester bypass, at the A286 Stockbridge Road (8.10am). Traffic is busy through the Stockbridge roundabout.

On the A27 at A284 Lyminster Road, the Crossbush Roundabout/Littlehampton turn off is busy but moving.

There is also slow traffic on the A24 Worthing Road northbound at the A272 (Buckbarn Crossroads) and the A24 Washington bypass northbound at the A283 (Washington roundabout).

Elsewhere, emergency services were called to a crash on the A27 at Chichester at 1.20am this morning.

The crash involved one car and fire crews from Chichester and Worthing were called to the scene.

No-one was trapped or thought to have been hurt in the incident and crews made the road safe by 2.30am, causing no traffic delays.

Traffic is flowing freely along the A272 at Petworth and through Rumbolds Hill in Midhurst.

On the trains, Southern Rail is reporting a network wide issue with ticket vending machines this morning.

Commuters are asked to allow more time to purchase tickets from the ticket office, on board trains or at their destination.
