Mountfield village voice

Jackie Spriggs has sent an update about Mountfield Church;

After a massive renovation, which included the removal of all the pews on the north side of the nave in order to renew the floor and supporting joists as well as treating the beams for death watch beetle, All Saints, Mountfield, will be having the first service in two months on Sunday 17th June at 10.00am. This will be a double celebration, not only giving thanks that we are ‘back in business’ but there will be a baptism as well, and the Rev’d. Geoff Pickering will be presiding over the proceedings.

We would very much like to thank Netherfield for being gracious hosts to us during the last two months.

Mountfield, Netherfield - and we now have Brightling in our mix of services – have been without a Rector for twenty months, but we have been well served by a wonderful group of retired clergy whose support during this time is very much appreciated.

In the recent elections of church officers Jackie Spriggs and Julie Hawkins were appointed Churchwardens for the coming year. Until a new Rector is appointed all enquiries for baptisms, marriages, and funerals should contact Jackie on 01580880261.

Just over one week to go until the Mountfield 2012 Jubilee Fete takes place!.
