A LANCING charity was given a boost when it received a donation from Tim Loughton, after the MP managed to win money twice.
The children’s group, Electric Storm Youth, of which Mr Loughton is a patron, was given £250 from the East Worthing and Shoreham MP, after he won £200 at BUPA’s Get Moving Challenge – a series of three walks held in Westminster last week, with the aim of raising awareness of the benefits of regular exercise.
The MP’s second bit of luck came when he visited the Ladbrokes in South Street, Lancing, and managed to win £50 on a free charity bet, after he was there to learn about the business and its charity Grand National fund-raising.
Mr Loughton said: “It was great fun to take part in the walks and place the bet on the Grand National. However, what is even better is that I was able to raise some funds for Electric Storm Youth, which provides a great vision for Lancing’s young people to focus their energy and realise their skills through constructive activities.”
