MURDER LATEST: Tributes paid to man stabbed to death in Durrington

FRIENDS of the man stabbed to death in Durrington on Friday (January 30) have set up an internet group paying tribute to a "cracking lad" who was always smiling.

Syden Pearson, aged 26, died at hospital at midnight on Friday (January 30). He was found with multiple stab wounds by police who were called to Shelby Road at 10.42pm following reports of a fight in the street.

More than 300 people have joined a Facebook group called R.I.P SYDEN PEARSON which has been set up to pay tribute to the man police say was local but had no fixed address.

Nearly 100 messages have been left on the Facebook group.

Michelle King has written: "I can't believe this has happened to you Syd. You were a lovely man, something no-one can take away from you."

Lewis Moore adds: "R.i.p Syden mate, I'll miss you. You didn't deserve this. Can't stop thinking about you and I never will."

Another friend, Lorraine Watters, left this message: "What a waste of a young life, especially when Syden was so lovely, he was a polite and caring young man."

James Daniel Coone asks on the Facebook page: "What is wrong with people in today's society."

James added: "He was a cracking lad and one of the only people I knew who could smile about anything no matter what he was going through at the time. Mate what can I say - I hope you are now at peace and that you can find a better place than the place that so let you down."

Lucy Martin has described Syden as a "lovely man" and adds: "Can't believe I will never see your cheeky smile again."

Police were today (Monday, February 2) continuing to question a 19-year-

old man from Durrington in connection with the stabbing.
