Musicians play from the heart in the St Paul’s Centre

A pair of Worthing musicians have come together to play beautiful music for a lunchtime audience.

Nigel Black, 59, of Bridge Road, Worthing and Gail Course, 53, of Nutley Crescent, Goring sound like they have played together for years, but the truth is it has only been for seven weeks.

Nigel plays the guitar and Gail is a professionally trained violinist. They met one Sunday morning at the Coastland Christian Outreach Centre and Nigel suggested they play together.

He said: “I started to play some chords, Gayle joined in and there you go. I don’t read a note of music, we just play from the heart.”

The pair play every Friday between 1pm and 2.30pm.

Karl Aleksejuk, 30, of Shirley Street, Hove is supervisor of the Lime cafe in the St Paul’s Centre, he said: “A lot of customers come back especially on Friday’s to hear them. If people want to play then as long as it’s in keeping with the cafe I’m open to it.”
