Spitfire delights Worthing war veterans during VE Day flypast: in pictures

A spitfire has filled the skies of Worthing during a VE Day flypast and delighted Worthing's war veterans.

At around 1.20pm, the SM520 model flew over the Care for Veterans care home in Boundary Road, Worthing, which is home to three veterans of the Second World War. The residents were taken into the car park outside and observed the social distancing rules so they could enjoy the sight. The flight was organised by the Daily Mail and began at the Boultbee Flight Academy in Goodwood near Chichester, West Sussex, before going to 11 locations across the south east.
