CHRIST CHURCH: We welcome Rev Dr John Neal to our church on Sunday morning to lead the 10.30am service. At 6.30pm Rev Geoffrey Whitfield will be leading worship with Holy Communion. Last Sunday several of our members and friends enjoyed a walk round Barcombe after the service in the summer sunshine.

ST ANNE’S CHURCH: On August 25 there is a lunch time recital with John Howes on piano, Roger Floyd bass and Lyn Deacon, soprano commencing at 1.10pm and lasting 40 minutes. Refreshments are available before and after the recital with a retiring collection.

RIVERSIDE CLUB: As many of you know I am the chairman of this Lewes over 50’s club which needs assistance if it is to continue running. We have a committee and as is usual with clubs, it is the same few people who do all the work each week. None of the members are getting any younger and we need some help. Our lovely secretary has been doing it for years and is not able to any longer, due to ill health and we are seeking a kind person to do this role, which will amount to approximately four administrative hours a month. Everything we do for the club is voluntary and the secretary role is probably the most important, being responsible for taking minutes three/four times a year, and also typing up and putting together the programmes three times a year. We meet every Friday afternoon at Cliffe Church Hall to be entertained for an hour or so with afternoon tea. If you feel able to give us a few hours of your time please contact me.

ST MARY’S SUPPORTERS CLUB: Come and enjoy a great fun evening on August 27 with indoor skittles, £1 per head and barbecue for £5 per head. Everyone welcome. Tickets available from the club.
