The day hospice team at St Barnabas House in Worthing is launching a series of six free events, taking place throughout the year.

Kaz Worton-Casey, day hospice manager, said: “This unique series of events is open to people recently diagnosed with a life-limiting illness and their main carer, and are intended to celebrate positive living while giving a broader understanding of the services offered by St Barnabas House.

“The day hospice team fully understands that the idea of coming to a hospice, especially for those newly diagnosed, can be a daunting prospect. Therefore, the dedicated staff at St Barnabas House have planned this series of light-hearted events to serve as an informal introduction to the services offered.

“It is hoped that through these events people will be better placed to make informed decisions should they need our services in the future and to find out how hospice care is very much about helping people to live life as fully and positively as possible.”

The first event, In the Know, will take place on Monday at the day hospice, in Titnore Lane, Worthing, between 11am and 2pm. Pop in with a friend or relative for tea, cake and a hand massage.
