New Durrington Tesco opens amid protests

THE NEW Tesco Extra store opened in Durrington today, with Save Titnore Woods protesters making their presence known.

The ribbon was cut at 10am this morning (Thursday, February 25), although the first shoppers went through the doors at 8am.

A number of protesters carrying "Smash Tesco Save Titnore" stood outside the store during the official opening ceremony, and one locked himself to shopping trollies.
