HRRA Co-Chair Les Tostevin said: “We will be providing information about what is in the area for lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people.

“This will include details of LGBT friendly venues and activities, entertainment, specific social and support groups for LGBT.

“We will give out details of local support agencies and services - social services, housing, health, counselling, welfare rights, Samaritans, and national support agencies where appropriate.

“We will also provide a listening ear for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans people who want to talk about issues such as coming out, hate crime, social isolation and health care. HRRA does not have the resources to offer counselling, advice or practical support to individuals but we hope this phone service will offer LGBT people a much needed point of contact.”

The HRRA phone line will be open on Monday evenings 5-7pm, telephone 07593 444677. For further details of HRRA activities see their website www.hrra.org.uk or email [email protected]
