New police appeal to find murder victim's van

Murder detectives have launched a new appeal to find murder victim David Bond's van after it was dumped by his killer.

Murder detectives in Sussex Police are launching a special appeal on Facebook in a bid to locate Mr Bond’s van, which is thought to be in the Mitcham area of Surrey.

Fifty-year-old David Bond was found dead in his home in Worthing on August 9.

Police said his red Ford Focus-derived van, registration HT02 HMA, had been taken from outside his house.

Alan Knight, 51, who has been charged with his murder, has told police that he took it and abandoned it in the Mitcham area.

The van was captured on traffic cameras in the time leading up to when it is claimed to have been abandoned, but despite searches and appeals, it has still not been located, police said.

A targeted appeal is now being made through Facebook in the area and detectives want to hear from anyone in the wider area of south-west London and north-east Surrey to let them know if they have seen it.
