New school head unveiled

LANCING College’s Worthing prep school has a new head teacher.

Governors have announced that Heather Beeby has been appointed to the role at the Lancing College Preparatory School at Worthing, formerly Broadwater Manor School.

Mrs Beeby will take up her post on September 1. She is currently director of communication at Hurstpierpoint College, where she was former head of the prep school.

Mrs Beeby has also been deputy head of Brighton College Preparatory School, and head of St Christopher’s School in Hove. She has been an independent schools inspector for 12 years and is a member of the Independent Association of Prep Schools.

She started her teacher career with the Inner London Education Authority, working in two state primary schools before moving into the independent sector.

She spent nine years at St Thomas’s, Battersea, where she became head of science and senior mistress.

Mrs Beeby said “I am thrilled to be joining the Lancing College Family and to have the opportunity to lead its newest member.

“I look forward to meeting the pupils, staff and parents next term in preparation for my start in September.”

Dr Harry Brünjes, chairman of the Lancing College governing body, said: “We believe that Mrs Beeby will bring to Lancing Prep at Worthing invaluable experience, energy, vibrancy, together with a deep commitment to the Christian ethos of the Lancing College Schools.”
