A county spokeswoman said the sensory toys would be “particularly enjoyable” for children with additional needs, including those on the autistic spectrum, or with hearing and visual impairments.

Peter Evans, member for children and families, said: “The items in stock at the toy libraries are great for children’s development, particularly the sensory toys for those with learning difficulties.

“All the toys are educational and can be borrowed for a bargain price.”

Anyone who cannot get to the centres listed above can speak to staff at their local children and family centre to see a catalogue of sensory toys available and how they can be ordered.
