Niche new Worthing salon enjoys '˜packed' opening day

The opening of a new child and parent hair salon in Worthing was a busy event with face painting, mascots and a DJ.

Katie Callaghan, owner of Snip-itz in the Guildbourne Centre, said the days since the opening had been ‘very, very busy’.

She said the salon aimed to fill ‘a niche in the market’ by offering packages for children and parents, who can have their hair cut at the same time while still enjoying ‘seperate experiences’.

There are Xbox booths where children can play games or watch TV, and car shaped chairs for younger customers.

Katie said of the location: “I wanted somewhere in a shopping centre with good footfall.

“It’s somewhere busy for parents and children, with parking.”

A team of four staff work at the salon, which also does nail treatments and is open from Tuesday to Saturday.
