PCSO UPDATE: Our PCSO, Daryl Holter has advised that the police received a report of a theft from Skinners Sheds, Ninfield, on the overnight of January 19/20: 2 shiplap dog kennels of red wood timber with pointed, felted roofs. One was 2ft square and the other 3ft square. Reference 0582 20/02/15 relates. A 4x4 vehicle was stolen from the Ninfield village area on 20/01/15, the vehicle was later located and a suspect arrested. Please can 4x4 owners make sure they are securing their vehicles best they can. If anyone should see or hear anything suspicious or out of place please contact Police at the time.

U18 FOOTBALL: The winter weather has hampered the Ninfield U18s road to victory once again, with last Sundays match being postponed. This Sunday, February 1, they are playing away to Hampden Park. JUMBLE SALE: 1st Ninfield Scout Group are holding their annual winter Jumble Sale tomorrow, January 31, 2 p.m., at Ninfield Memorial Hall. Entrance is 50p per person. Along with bargains, there is a raffle and refreshments. If you have any jumble you would like to donate, you are able to drop it off at the Memorial Hall on Friday 30 after 7 p.m. or on Saturday 31 after 8.30 a.m. Alternatively, jumble can be collected the week before by contacting Dick Creasey on 07970 559226 or Rosemary Cooper on 01424 892681.

CAFE CHURCH: Ninfield Methodist Church are holding a ‘Messy Church’ on February 1, 10.30 - 11.30 a.m. This is a family service including breakfast with a Christian Conjurer illustrating the theme ‘Called by Jesus’. All families are warmly welcome.

FIRST RESPONDERS: The Bexhill & District Community First Responders, who cover Bexhill, Ashburnham, Ninfield, Catsfield, Crowhurst, Hooe , Whydown & Normans Bay, will be meeting on Wednesday, February 4. NINFIELD PARISH COUNCIL: Ninfield Parish Council are meeting on February 5, 7 p.m. at Ninfield Methodist Church hall. All residents are welcome to attend.

POLICE PANEL MEETING: The next Police Panel Meeting will be held at the Reading Room, Church Lane, Ninfield on 7.30 p.m. on February 10. The meeting will be to discuss Policing across the beat of our PCSO, Daryl Holter.

MOBILE LIBRARY: The East Sussex County Council Mobile Library service will next be in the villages on February 13 at Hooe, opposite Denbigh Court, 11.20 a.m. - 11.45 a.m. Ninfield, Downsview (off Church Lane), 11.55 a.m. - 12.30 p.m. Please note the new days and times. There is no longer a stop at Coombe Shaw.

HOOE OPEN GROUP: The Hooe Open Group will next meet on February 13, 2.30 p.m. at Hooe Village Hall. For further details call Edna Wallis on 01424 842591.

PANCAKE LUNCH: St Oswald’s, Hooe, invite you all to a “Pancake Lunch” on Tuesday February 17, in Hooe Village Hall from 12 noon till 2 p.m. They welcome all comers, no ticket required just a donation towards the cost placed in the collection box before leaving.

HOOE LOCAL HISTORY GROUP: Hooe History Society meet next on Thursday February 19, at 7.30 p.m. in Hooe Village Hall. It has always been the ambition of Hooe Society to research and record the history of our village, its people and the surrounding countryside. This months presentation fits into that mould exactly. Peter Doodes has been researching The Salt Marshes. This month he will be telling us about his findings, his talk is entitled ‘ The History and continuing story of the Hooe Marshes with its salt pans, vanished harbour, villages and airfield’. A talk by a local resident on a local subject - certainly fits the bill! Further details from Peter, 01424 892329.
