Netherfield Village - Diamond Jubilee Party/British Gypsum and residents 60 Year Reunion was held on the village green on Monday June 4.

Whilst the weather was blustery with a few showers the whole event was very enjoyable and those organising had done a very good job with lots of refreshments, games for the children and adults alike. There was a tug of war and raffle amongst other events, whilst Chiffer entertained with his disco. All families attending received a commemorative coin. I hope to have a list of those who put so much hard work in to the day and deserve all our thanks next week. The afternoon was followed by live music and a BBQ in the White Hart, we were blessed with a dry evening and we enjoyed a great view of fireworks and beacons on the coast. Thanks to all involved.

Netherfield Church - Our Family Service last Sunday was taken by Jacqueline Kemp and it was delightful. A congregation of nearly thirty learnt about the Spirit, this being one of the three aspects of the Trinity. A very loved and worn teddy bear appeared and the children attending shared their favourite comforters with us, all linking to the need for reassurance. It was encouraging to have a good attendance on this busy and festive weekend. Next Sunday, June 10 will be a United Benefice Holy Communion where our three parishes join together at Netherfield. June 17 will be a Holy Communion at Mountfield and June 24 will be a Holy Communion at Netherfield. This is also the celebration of the birth of St John the Baptist and will be Netherfield’s Patronal Festival service. All services are at 10 am please check here each week or on notice boards at the churches for our services. Paul Smith Church Warden.
