Nursery's 10 years of fun

AN open day at Amberley Nursery in Buckhurst Road, on Satuurday, April 16 celebrated 10 years of progress at the children's facility under present owners Mark and Claire Ryalls.

Youngsters and their parents were shown the many activities on offer, including rice play, colour scratchers, plane making, bag colouring and pottery decoration.

Some of the children who left the nursery in 2001 and who are now in their teens returned to power a popular smoothie bike in the garden, but were by no means the oldest visitors.

Several of the current children’s parents had attended Amberley some 30 years ago, and were impressed by recent work to enlarge the three to five-year-olds’ classroom and to modernise toilet facilities.

The nursery also has improved “free flow” to the garden, allowing children easier access should they decide that’s where they would like to play.

Mr Ryalls said: “We’d like to thank everyone for supporting us over the last 10 years, from parents and children to our fantastic, hard-working staff. Thanks, too, for making our anniversary so special.”
