He said: “Wooden Spoon is delighted to support Cornfield School in its exceptionally important work with children with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties by investing £13,000 to create a new workshop to develop practical skills. This is the charity’s 10th Anniversary, so we’re excited and proud to be celebrating donating over £300,000 to 19 projects in Sussex since we started in 2006. We’re breaking fresh ground by cycling a route that linked all our projects whilst raising funds for new ventures. Every penny raised in Sussex is spent in Sussex. If you’d like to show your support for the riders, in this celebration of our important work over the past ten years and to help more disabled children in the future, please visit www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Alan-Jenkins6.”

The cyclists, aged between 23 to 75, took on the unique challenge over three days ,finishing their 115 mile tour at Shoreham Yacht Club’s bar with Sussex Sailability.

Wooden Spoon funds projects to support disadvantaged and disabled children, from sensory rooms, specialist playgrounds and sports activity areas to respite, medical and community care.
