DIRECT from London’s West End, the tantalising, tasteful, camp and colourful art of burlesque has been given a modern-day twist for a new show at Worthing’s Pavilion Theatre.
The show brings Variety back to the theatre, combining musical and theatrical parody with the art of striptease, magic, comedy and dance.
Elegant showgirls will combine Parisian charm with Las Vegas glamour in a spectacle that marries live vocals and musical talent with the art of burlesque.
An Evening of Burlesque is compèred by Kiki Kaboom and includes British burlesque stars including Miss Hotcake Kitty, Amber Topaz, Chrys Columbine, Miss Slinky Sparkles, Ginger Blush and The Kalki Hula Girl. They will perform everything from a live rendition of the cadenza from Beethoven’s 3rd Piano Concerto in C Minor to fan dances.
Producer Michael Taylor says: “Combining comedy, magic and vocal harmony with couture costumes, breathtaking choreography and a fabulous score, An Evening of Burlesque playfully takes audiences from its music hall roots to the present day in the ultimate tease.”
An Evening of Burlesque is at the Pavilion Theatre on Saturday, May 21, at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £18-£19.50. Suitable for over 18s only. To book, call 01903 206206 or visit www.worthingtheatres.co.uk
