Blazing after fires

FURTHER to the letter from David Brenchley, about arsonists, two fires were started at a park in Sompting quite recently.

The police were rung as the persons at that point were still trying to light the second fire. Their reply was just to tell me to ring the fire brigade.

One engine subsequently arrived (we are allowed only one in Sompting/Lancing now) and extinguished both fires.

The local PCSO did arrive, only after the fire engine had left, and how many people were arrested?

None, as the PCSO has no powers of arrest.

What do the poor fire brigade have to say about their time wasted and cost of their actions that can't be recouped?
