Christmas Day at A&E

JUST a short note to thank the wonderful staff at both Worthing and Brighton accident and emergency departments for the care and attention given to my son on Christmas Day.

He has been suffering with quinsy (abscesses behind the tonsils) for some months and he woke on Christmas morning unable to swallow and in some distress.

From the cheerful and reassuring reception ladies to the wonderful doctors and nurses, I cannot fault the care and attention my son received by both the staff at Worthing and Brighton, where we were referred.

While I was waiting for my son to receive attention, I witnessed anxious parents coming to Worthing reception with their young children and babies, well wrapped up in blankets, being seen almost immediately and then leaving a little while later looking so relieved and thankful knowing their little ones had received medical attention.

I could not but think of places like Africa, where people wait for days and perhaps walk miles to see a doctor.

In conclusion, thank you to all medical staff concerned, not forgetting the cheerful ambulance personnel.
