Fantastic time at Education Day

Education Day: A fantastic, comprehensive, training day is planned for all the children’s nurses involved in end of life care in Sussex.

This will provide an excellent platform to improve the services provided to children and young people in the Sussex community who have life-shortening conditions and need palliative care, and can be practised in an acute or specialist setting.

We will have eminent speakers talking about specialist topics such as managing complex symptoms in neonatal end of life care, managing symptoms in paediatric oncology and managing symptoms in children with complex needs and at end of life.

The day will also include a panel discussion on advanced care planning and in the afternoon we will be running workshops around the support for families at the time of saying goodbye.

This annual event will take place on Friday 14 March and, from previous feedback, is always very well received.

As we are the only children’s hospice covering the whole of Sussex, it is important for us to share our knowledge, and also make sure we train our staff regularly and give them opportunities to learn from experts in similar fields.

Chestnut Tree House, in Dover Lane, Arundel, cares for over 280 children and young adults from 0-25 years of age with progressive life-limiting conditions.
