HEALTH AND CARE: Let’s Talk about stroke and GP services in the local area

THE Herald & Gazette has joined forces with GP practices in the area which form part of the NHS Coastal West Sussex Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG). This week, they want to hear from you.

Do you have a view on local stroke services or the services you receive at your GP surgery?

If so, we want to hear from you.

The CCG has re-launched its Let’s Talk campaign to get out and talk to people about local health services and how they could be improved.

The key topics for the summer are primary care services (the services at your GP surgery) and local stroke services across Sussex.

Over recent weeks the CCG has been at a number of local events, including the Bognor Rox weekend and Henfield’s Summer Fayre, and later this month we will be at Worthing Birdman and Arundel Festival, with more dates still to be agreed.

It is really important to hear what our local communities have to say.

It may be clichéd that the NHS wants to listen to people, but at the CCG we really do.

Your views will help to shape two big projects that we are working on – one to look at stroke services across Sussex and how we could make them even better, and the second to work with our GP practices to support them to manage the increasing pressures upon them whilst continuing to provide high quality care.

But talking to one of our team at a local event isn’t the only way you can get involved.

We’ve already been out to four local stroke clubs to talk to people there about their experiences of local care, and we have further visits planned.

And an online survey is also available and we would encourage anyone who would like to have their say to visit www.sussexcollaborative-nhs.uk/stroke to share your views.

Similarly with primary care, we are planning a large survey later this summer so that people can tell us what they think online and over the phone.

We are just finalising the details of this one, so more to come on this soon.

We really hope that we can talk to as many people as possible over the coming weeks, and make sure that what you think about health services helps us to shape them over the coming months and years.

If you see a member of our team come and say hello!
