Observer Comment: Help give local schools a treat with our cash-for-schools special offer

DO you want to help give your children a treat while they are at school?

If so the Observer can help.

This is the second week of our Cash for Schools offer, where the Bexhill Observerwill be giving money in exchange for every original printed masthead we receive by Friday July 10.

The idea is for parents and staff to band together and collect our mastheads - the green Observer at the top of the front page - and send them in to us with a form which we will print towards the end of the month.

Also involve your friends and relatives who read the paper - the more mastheads collected, the more money each school will accumulate.

Primary schools will receive 2p for each masthead and secondary schools 1p for each masthead.

In these times of cutbacks and straitened financial conditions, the thought behind this scheme is that it could give all our local schools a welcome boost.

Money could be used to help fund a day out for the children, new books or even food and squash for a tea party.

There is however some small print - only original mastheads from June 2011 will be accepted.
