Our fantastic volunteers

Last week was Volunteers Week, the national celebration of the wonderful work done by volunteers across the country.

We have some lovely volunteers at Chestnut Tree House who undertake various roles always with a smile on their face, even when cleaning, hoovering or working outside in the rain!

They are a fantastic bunch of people who expect no reward; the odd cup of tea is always welcome but mostly it is just saying thank you that brings them back.

As part of the celebrations, we held a tea party for our volunteers – staff made lots of yummy cakes and served the volunteers, many of whom received long service badges.

It was a lovely occasion and a great chance for us to say a huge thank you to our volunteers for all their hard work and dedication.

We have continued to use a mixture of methods to recruit volunteers this year.

Our successful open sessions give prospective volunteers an opportunity to meet existing volunteers and find out more about the role.

These sessions have a high conversion rate for potential volunteers as they provide a deeper insight into the role. We have also undertaken some targeted recruitment for the new role of Vehicle Upkeep and this has successfully recruited a team of five people to assist with these tasks.

We are always looking for new volunteers and there are lots of different roles available so if you are interested please contact our Voluntary Services Team on 01903 706315 or see our website www.chestnut-tree-house.org.uk

Chestnut Tree House, in Dover Lane, Arundel, cares for over 280 children and young adults from 0-25 years of age with progressive life-limiting conditions.
