Signs of spring lift the spirits

It is so lovely to see the bulbs starting to appear out of the cold empty ground.

As I’m sure you can imagine, sometimes working at Chestnut Tree House is so sad and the tears don’t stop.

The team who work here are so good at making every day happy for those who can enjoy it, and supporting those families with children who cannot look forward to tomorrow as they have no tomorrows left.

Sometimes families go on to have other children, which do not replace the child they have lost, but help to make tomorrow happen again.

We are busy trying to get ready for the new financial year, as we continue to have to find over 92% of our income from fundraising and retail.

This is obviously an on-going pressure when we are supporting more and more families with less and less money. But seeing all those new smiling faces will make it all worthwhile.

The bulbs come up every year and every year there sadly are more new children and their families who need the services of Chestnut Tree House.
