ST BARNABAS: Getting ready for Christmas events

This Christmas we are holding a new fundraising campaign called Wear it Festive, and it couldn't be easier or more fun to get involved in.

We are asking local businesses, schools and individuals to get together with friends or colleagues, dress up in Santa costumes, Christmas jumpers, reindeer antlers or tinsel and hold a festive fundraising event.

It costs £16,000 a day to provide all of our care services bat the hospice and out in the community, and we are hoping that the money raised through Wear it Festive will help us to pay for Christmas Day.

Companies who have signed up include Micawber Lettings, BN5 magazine and Business Advertising, Robert Luff, Fitzhugh Gates Solicitors, Henfield Traders Association, Worthing Football Club and our Friends Group.

On Friday and Saturday, December 9 and 10, we will be holding collections in Worthing town centre with choirs singing Christmas songs, ghost busters, elves and a photo booth where you can have a festive photo taken.

To find out more about how you can take part in Wear it Festive, visit www.stbh.org.uk/wearitfestive, or to request a fundraising pack email: [email protected] or call 01903 254777.

We are also holding our annual Christmas market for patients visiting the Day Hospice on Thursday, December 1, and the team would be extremely grateful for any donations.

They are particularly looking for homemade craft items, Christmas hamper items, homemade foodstuff such as jams, chutneys and biscuits (with a list of ingredients) and good quality raffle items.

If you would like to make a donation for the Christmas market, you can drop in items at the main reception between 9am and 5pm every day.

Please call 01903 706316 or email: [email protected] if you have any queries about items.
