ST BARNABAS: Show your support by shopping in charity shops

One of the easiest ways to support your local hospice is by shopping in our charity shops.

The first St Barnabas House shop opened in 1989 and we now have 11 across West Sussex selling second-hand furniture, clothing, books and bric-a-brac, plus a distribution centre.

We have a huge variety of good-quality items for sale in our shops – with plenty of bargains to be had!

The shops generated a profit of around £700,000 last year.

This is a significant contribution to the charity and enough to fund 44 days of all the care provided by St Barnabas House.

They also act as a highly visible advertisement of our hospice in shopping parades across the area.

As well as buying goods, you can also donate items for us to sell in our shops.

We can arrange collections and deliveries for larger items.

Please contact our Retail Office on 01903 275660 for more information.

We can also carry out house clearances.

Plus, don’t forget the Gift Aid scheme for charities, which means St Barnabas House can make a repayment claim if you sign up to the scheme.

In fact, you help us raise 25 per cent more every time you donate goods to our shops if you Gift Aid them – that’s an extra 25p for every £1.

If you are a UK taxpayer, the HMRC will give us back the amount of tax paid on the value of your donation.

It’s really easy to sign up, and you can find out how at any of our shops.
