TECHNOLOGY: New year, new you apps

Resolution is always strong during the first few days of a new year, our waistbands have expanded, our houses are filled to the brim with gifts and our wallets are empty.

However, resolve has a habit of faltering when the cold hard light of January starts to raise its stony head.

To encourage you to stick to your ‘new year, new me’ plan here are the top apps to help you make 2016 your best year yet.

My Fitness Pal – if getting fit and dropping those festive pounds is on your January tick list then this is the app for you. My Fitness Pal recommends a personalised calorie intake depending on whether you wish to lose, maintain or increase your weight.

Toshl – not all of us were born with in-built financial common sense. This is where apps like Toshl come in handy. Toshl helps you visualise areas of spending, showing where you tend to overspend, highlighting areas in which you potentially could cut back.

TED Talks – if your New Year’s resolution is to better your knowledge and educate yourself about the world around you, then you should check out the TED Talks app. Access thousands of short lectures covering a vast range of topics from some of the world’s most interesting people on one easy app.

Happy New Year from all of us at JSPC and good luck with your resolutions!
