Shop trolley volunteer (Arundel) – Sussex Community NHS Trust

Sussex Community NHS Trust is looking for volunteers to take a small trolley around the wards at Arundel and District Community Hospital so patients can purchase small sundries.

This is a new service for the patients and they hope to set this up in the afternoons.

They are looking for good communicators who have empathy with the elderly and their needs, and are trustworthy and reliable.

You need to be over 16 and have the ability to push a small trolley around the wards.

Readers – The Voice of Progress

The Voice of Progress was formed in 1975 and is wholly run and supported by volunteers.

They produce fortnightly recordings of local news, taken with permission from local newspapers, as well as a talking magazine put together by their very talented and passionate volunteers.

Readers are required to compile one talking magazine a year which consists of a talk about one or more subjects which interest them and hopefully which would interest the listeners.

As a start, any reader accepted would be put on a reserve list and they can then read as many or as few times as they like when they are asked.

Business adviser – Young Enterprise Arun and Chichester

Young Enterprise needs volunteers to act as business advisers to teams of students (aged 14 to 19) in local schools who will be running a real company for the next academic year.

The business adviser will need to attend the company’s weekly board meetings and is there to guide the team/company but not to run it.

Bring your knowledge, passion and experience to inspire the next generation of young people to discover their potential and make a lasting impression by becoming a business adviser.

Enthusiasm and an interest in encouraging young people to achieve their potential are vital as is flexibility, patience, punctuality and communication.

4Sight club assistant (Littlehampton) – 4Sight

4Sight is looking for an enthusiastic individual to join their existing team of volunteers, to assist with the running of their Littlehampton Social Club for the Blind.

The Littlehampton club is one of numerous clubs around West Sussex which offer vital social support for many individuals living with sight loss around the county.

You will: assist with the club, make tea and coffee, assist with club visits and assist with club activities.

The club runs on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month.
