World of Words: November poetry competition runner-up

Clouded Vision, by Andrew Staunton

Look to the clouds, rather than listen to forecasts

Feel the wind, watch the yachts masts.

Don’t just use your iPhone weather app

Go out and feel it, the sky is a map.

Cirrus clouds mean bad weathers coming

Nimbostratus soon rain will be drumming.

Cirrocumulus, brings unsettled weather

Stratocumulus, dry and as dull as heather

Cirrostratus, soon will bring showers

Stratus coats a drizzle over grateful flowers

Altocumulus and cumulus herald the sun

Cumulonimbus, thunder and lightning so run!
