Janet grew up in Shoreham and has recently returned to live there. She said: “The course will consist of 17 weekly, two-hour classes. Each week, we will begin by exploring a different aspect of the craft.

“The second hour will be dedicated to reading and listening to each other’s work and offering positive and supportive feedback.

“Throughout the course, we will be inviting professionals to come in and share their wisdom.”

Course participants will be offered the opportunity to enter a short play (no more than 15 minutes) in the Shoreham Wordfest Short Play Competition, which will run from September 25 to October 12.

The winners of the competition will see their work produced for the public in an evening of short plays as part of Shoreham Wordfest 2014. The course will begin on Tuesday, March 4, and will cost £200 for 17 classes, with concessions available for those on a low income.
