Fight is not over

THANK you to the councillors sitting on the planning committee for coming to their senses and rejecting the destruction of Titnore Woods.

At last, members have had the guts to stick two fingers up at central government and multi-million pound building groups, and have let common sense prevail.

What a shame that our local MP, Mr Bottomley, doesn't see fit to take the same stance and convey the views of his constituents that this scheme is not needed, environmentally destructive, increases the risk of flooding and generally unwanted. Worthing is big enough!

The fight is far from over with revised applications and appeals expected, but those opposed to further development on fields and woodland remain as committed and active in their opposition as when they first began to fight the developers all those years ago.

To the developers: "Give up and go away!"
