LETTER: Distressed by smoking issue

They obviously have never heard of passive smoking. This is where people can inhale smoke from other people’s cigarettes and be affected health-wise by the smoke. They do not seem aware of the dangers on ones health from smoking. Cancer and heart disease just to name two.
Money could be better spent on helping people to stop smoking than having to spend thousands of pounds of NHS funds on treating some preventable diseases caused by smoking. Is there a room where smokers can all smoke together and inhale each other’s smoke as well as their own so that non-smokers are not affected by the smoke?

Hide AdI would be very sorry if any doctors or nurses were smoking, although there may be a few they would all be aware of the dangers of smoking.
As a non-smoker, I am very aware of the smell of cigarette smoke as I pass by someone smoking but why should I be the one to have to cross to the other side of the road in order to avoid the smoke.
